Citizen science in action! Count Australia's cutest koalas, protect their future.

Join us for the Narrandera Koala Count, Australia's longest-running citizen science event, where you can make a real difference in protecting one of the country's most iconic species. Since 1972, when just 20 koalas were reintroduced to the Narrandera Koala Reserve, the colony has grown to over 300 strong (exact numbers to be determined on 21 September 2025) thanks to ongoing conservation efforts and community involvement.

Be part of this incredible wildlife monitoring tradition by helping count koalas, track their health, and support the ongoing protection of their habitat. This family-friendly event offers guided walks through the Narrandera Flora and Fauna Reserve, expert tips on spotting koalas, and a chance to connect with nature.

No prior experience is needed - just bring your enthusiasm, walking shoes, and a keen eye for Narrandera's furry locals. Together, we'll ensure the future of Australia's cutest koala colony.
