Councillors

Narrandera Shire Council is a statutory corporation established under the Local Government Act 1993. Meeting together as the council, our councillors form the governing body responsible for directing and controlling the affairs of council.

Their role, as set out in Act, provides clarity and guidance to councils, councillors and constituents. There are several key elements to the role of a councillor, such as participating in high level decision-making, setting the strategic direction of the council and representing the local community.

The role of councillor does not include those functions performed by the General Manager.
