Cr Jenny Clarke OAM JP was re-elected to as one of Narrandera Shire Council's nine (9) Councillors in September 2016.
Jenny was born in Narrandera and grew up on a rural property on the Barellan Road. This is Jenny’s fourth term of council service, having served in the years 91-95, 99-2004 and 2008-2012.
Jenny has 33 years experience as a business owner in the building industry and over the years has faced many challenges. She also has a Real Estate selling certificate and is a Justice of Peace.
With relatives and friends living on rural properties around the district Jenny knows the hardship facing everyone in the Shire with the effects of so many years of drought and the rural downturn every single person suffers both town and country.
Jenny is a family person with three daughters, the youngest deceased under tragic circumstances in 2009, and 3 grandchildren.
Community interests: A member of Rotary International, a presenter since its inception on the local community radio 91.1 FM, member of the Riverina Vintage Machinery Club, member of RADAR (Riverina and District Animal Rescue) and a member of the Masters Builders Association.
Jenny is a strong believer that councillors must show strong leadership, honesty, reliability, diligence and above all good old common sense - people that have a fair and unbiased view of everything put before them at any time, someone that listens to the community. This is what prompted her to seek another term on council.
