The preliminary design for Narrandera Skywalk has been completed by Teleo Design.
The design features a fully accessible walkway that extends some 13 metres out over and above the waters of Lake Talbot. This provides an uninterrupted view of the full length of the lake and the natural beauty of the adjoining bushland of the Flora and Fauna Reserve.
In addition to the Skywalk, the stone stairs connecting Lake Talbot boat ramp and Lake Talbot Water Park carpark are set to be upgraded. While funds permitting, a boardwalk and pontoon will also be constructed along the lakes edge west of the boat ramp.
Mayor Cr Neville Kschenka is keen to see this project come to fruition, “The Skywalk is an excellent addition to our vast range of tourism assets in Narrandera Shire. This project along with the other Playground on the Murrumbidgee projects, collectively will result in increased visitation and visitor spend.”
The project is set to begin July 2022 following the tender process to select the successful contractor and its anticipated completion by December 2022.
Council will be seeking community feedback on the design of this project until 4pm Friday 15 April 2022 and is available to view from Council’s website or in person at Council’s Administration Building.
