The Country Makers Markets: Barellan

Start your adventure with a winter weekend escape to the Barellan edition of the Country Makers Markets. Held inside the charming Barellan Hall, this curated market features a beautiful mix on handmade, homegrown, and handcrafted creations from across the Riverina.
Expect stalls brimming with unique gifts, gourmet produce, artisan goods, and boutique finds - plus delicious food and entertainment for the kids. It's the perfect way to warm up your August and support local makers.

The Barellan Show is a true celebration of rural life - complete with livestock, local produce, horse events, sideshow rides, shearing competitions, and plenty of good old-fashioned fun.
From the thrill of the Show Trots to the charm of the Art & Craft Pavillion, there's something for every age and interest. Bring the whole family and experience one of the Riverina's great community traditions.

The Good Old Days Festival
3-5 October • Barellan Showground
Held over the October long weekend, the much-loved Good Old Days Festival brings Australia's pioneering spirit to life with working draught animals, vintage farm gear, bush skills and more than a few surprises. It's raw, hand-on history with a country twist.
Expect everything from bullock-drawn ploughs, to hand milking demos, butter churning, working dog challenges, blacksmithing displays, and even an Australian record attempt for the greatest number of draught horses in harness pulling a wool wagon. The iconic Furphy Festival adds an extra layer with rebarrelling demos, collectables and the classic water carts that helped shape rural Australia.
With kids' games, competitions, camp oven cooking, and on-site camping and glamping, this is a full-throttle weekend of nostalgia, grit and grassroots community spirit.
