The Minister for Local Government has advised that the 2020 Council elections have been postponed until 2021, to address the risks posed by the COVID-19 virus.

For Narrandera Shire this means that the End of Term report also the review of the Community Strategic Plan and appointments to Section 355 and Advisory Committees, will also all be postponed until next year. The Community Survey that was last conducted in 2016, which assists Council in assessing community opinion of Council, will now be conducted in early 2021.

The Mayoral election will however go ahead, with the current Council set to conduct a mayoral election in September 2020 as this is a bi-annual requirement.
