Expression of Interest: Bar Operator for "Retro Rewind - Countdown to 2026" New Year's Eve Event.

Narrandera Shire Council is thrilled to announce a new event - "Retro Rewind - Countdown to 2026." A lively community celebration to welcome the New Year at the Narrandera Showground. This inclusive event is for people of all ages. It will feature retro music from the 80s through to 2026, with live entertainment, rides, food trucks, fireworks and more.

We are seeking a motivated group or organisation to partner with us as the licensed operator of the bar area. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key part of a major community event, serving a diverse crowd in a fun and festive environment.

What we offer
•    An estimated audience of 2500
•    The setup of the bar zone, including crowd barriers, tables, and chairs.
•    The opportunity to manage the bar zone including licensing, staffing and operational costs associated with the bar. 
 

Event Details
•    Narrandera showground – Elizabeth Avenue, Narrandera NSW
•    Gates Open: 5.30pm  
•    Live Feature Band: 6PM – 9:30pm  
•    Amusement Rides: 6pm – late  
•    Retro Glow Roller Disco: 6pm – 9pm
•    Bar Zone: 6pm – 11:45pm  
•    Food Trucks: 6pm – late  
•    Chill-Out Lounge: 6pm – Midnight  
•    Feature DJ Countdown Party: 9:30pm – 12:30am
 

Liquor Licensing Requirements (NSW) 

Under New South Wales law, the operation of a bar at a public event requires appropriate liquor licensing. The successful applicant must hold or obtain the necessary liquor licence(s) from NSW Liquor & Gaming, such as a Temporary Licence or a Limited Licence, depending on the scope of operations. 

The licence application must be submitted and approved prior to the event date, and all liquor service must comply with NSW liquor laws, including responsible service of alcohol and checking IDs. The licensee is responsible for ensuring all legal obligations are met, including staff training and adherence to the Liquor Act 2007 and associated regulations.


Who Should Apply 
We invite expressions of interest from parties capable of delivering professional, friendly, and responsible bar services.

Please submit your expression of interest outlining your experience, capacity to manage bar operations, and any additional support or sponsorship arrangements. Include your contact details and evidence of relevant licensing or certifications. Be sure to specify how you will meet NSW liquor licensing requirements.
