Management, advisory and Section 355 committees

More than promoting Narrandera's arts and cultural activities, the Arts and Culture Committee advises Council on preservation and recognition of the Shire's rich heritage and the use and development of the Narrandera Arts and Community Centre.

Australia Day is for all Australians, regardless of where our personal stories began. It reflects on being Australian, recognises our shared history and celebrates contemporary Australia. The Australia Day Planning Committee guides Council in preparation for local Australia Day awards and community events held throughout the Shire.

The Bettering Barellan Committee helps Council to manage the operation of community venues, the Barellan Hall at 70 Bendee Street and Barellan Museum at 72 Yapunyah Street. It also advises on cultural and recreational facilities in the district and identifies opportunities to assist Council's ongoing planning.

The Grong Grong Community Committee helps Council to manage activities and operations of Grong Grong Commemoration Hall, Grong Grong Earth Park and Grong Grong Sportsground and organising community events. This enthusiastic group is also involved in promoting Grong Grong, its cultural and recreational facilities.

In conjunction with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, the Koala Regeneration Committee is committed to the welfare and continued propagation of the koala colony within and around the Narrandera Nature Reserve and Narrandera Flora and Fauna Reserve sites.

With a range of interests and knowledge, members of the Lake Talbot Environs Committee gather community opinion and provide advice to Council on the ongoing maintenance and development of the Lake Talbot area. The committee assists with monitoring conservation and determining priority activities.

With Council, the committee manages the Parkside Cottage Museum's operations. The dedicated members advise on the preservation and recognition of heritage and cultural values, and identify opportunities for further development of the museum, which showcases a diverse collection of the district's history.
