Our Mayor and Councillors
Our governing body comprises nine councillors, elected by eligible residents and ratepayers at local government elections held every four years. Councillors are elected to represent the entire Narrandera Shire local government area, rather than individual wards. The results of the most recent elections held in September 2024 can be accessed from the NSW Electoral Commission website.
Chosen by the councillors, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor are elected for a two-year term. The current Mayor Cr Neville Kschenka and Deputy Mayor Cr Sue Ruffles were elected to serve in their respective positions from October 2024 to October 2026.
Councillors make decisions on all key matters at council meetings. Meetings are open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend.
