Water supply network

Council is responsible for the installation, maintenance and operation of the water supply network, reservoirs, pump stations, mains and associated hydrants and valves.

Water is sourced from four bores located adjacent to the Murrumbidgee River and aerated to treat hydrogen sulphide, iron and manganese, before being chlorinated to ensure its safety. Council does not add fluoride as the water has naturally occurring fluoride at acceptable levels for improving dental health.
