For many people, our dogs and cats are our friends and companions. They are much loved members of our families. However, there are a small number of people who do not care for their animals responsibly and these animals often become problems for the community.
Contact Council’s Ranger Services on 0429 043 719 report your missing pet. They will watch out for your animal and let you know if found.
You can also report lost and found pets in NSW.
When Ranger Services find microchipped and registered animals and can contact the owners without needing to impound the animals, your pets may be able to be returned at no cost.
Animals found by Ranger Services are scanned and checked for microchip and registration details.
If Council has not already contacted you, for example if an animal is not microchipped/registered, and your pet is impounded then contact council on 02 6959 5510 to verify ownership and arrange collection.
If your animal is microchipped and registered, you will be need to pay impounding and sustenance charges before your animal can be released. Refer to the Fees & Charges.
If your animal is not microchipped and/or registered, you will need to complete these steps before your animal can be released.
