Lost and impounded animals

For many people, our dogs and cats are our friends and companions. They are much loved members of our families. However, there are a small number of people who do not care for their animals responsibly and these animals often become problems for the community.

What happens if my animal is lost?

Contact Council’s Ranger Services on 0429 043 719 report your missing pet. They will watch out for your animal and let you know if found.

You can also report lost and found pets in NSW.

When Ranger Services find microchipped and registered animals and can contact the owners without needing to impound the animals, your pets may be able to be returned at no cost.
