Narrandera Urban Stormwater Upgrade

Project overview

The Narrandera Urban Stormwater Upgrade is a critical infrastructure project addressing increased flash flooding risk caused by climate change and an ageing stormwater system. The project includes installation of a 1250m box culvert system and a new stormwater pump station to provide protection up to a 1% AEP event. Construction is scheduled from mid‑2026 to mid‑2027.

Construction stages

Note: these stages are indicative and will be confirmed once the contractor is engaged.

  • Construction Stage 1 (140m) – from stormwater basin (South of Larmer St) to the southern end of Adams Lane
  • Construction Stage 2 (210m) – from southern end of Adams Lane to Audley Street
  • Construction Stage 3 & 4A  (22m) – Audley Street (irrigation Way) road crossing
  • Construction Stage 4  (370m) – from Audley Street (irrigation Way) along Adams Street, Twynam Street and across Marie Bashier Park to Cadell Street.
  • Construction Stage 5 & 5A  (98m) –  from Marie Bashier Park north along and across Cadell Street to Bolton Street.
  • Construction Stage 6 (550m) –  from Cadell Street along Bolton Street to the inlets works between Charles & Willans Streets
