Narrandera Local Environment Plan and Development Control Plan
The LEP and DCP provide rules about what we can build and where in our local government area.
Updating the documents will help deliver a coordinated approach to ensuring infrastructure is delivered to support housing and jobs to meet community needs.
Changes to the LEP and DCP are aiming to:
- Reflect the recommendations of the Local Housing and Employment Zone Land Strategy 2022
- Address anomalies and inconsistencies in the documents
- Re-classify public land to meet the needs of the community
- Ensure appropriate provisions are provided for the preservation of heritage
- Provide a more user-friendly development control plan
- Correct mapping errors and addresses changes to legislation
Council is in the early stages of the review and invites feedback for improvement and suggestions to update the existing LEP and DCP.
A separate public exhibition of the draft LEP and DCP is anticipated by undertaken in the second half of 2026.
