Building records search

A request can be submitted using the Building Records Search <change to link> if documents are required for the purpose of a property sale. Property records may also be useful for historical research, when proposing further development or for insurance matters.

Council does not have electronic records of applications or approvals prior to 2000. Those paper files are stored in archives and require a physical search. Applications and approvals from 2000 onward are more easily accessible, however it should be noted that Council cannot guarantee requested records will be locatable.

A Building Records Search is usually able to be completed within 10 working days following lodgement (fee payment) and results will be emailed to the address specified on the application. Older buildings and applications with less detail can take longer.
