Corporate Mission Vision, Key Strategies & Principal Functions
Our role as an office of local government is to provide local government services and representation for the people who live, work, and visit Narrandera Shire, and to assist also, those who have a stake in our local and regional prosperity; by way of effective consultation, policy making and responsive delivery that is designed to meet the needs of our community.
KEY STRATEGIC THEMES:
Lasting Impression - Lasting impressions ‘inside and out’ - Improving our internal image to our customers and external image to our visitors and investors. A professional organisation and a positive place ‘inside and out’, that is highly recognised for its decisions and its actions.
Town Planning & environment - Evaluating demographics, land use and infrastructure needs, in line with growth strategies for residential and industrial land; as well as, protection of town character, and conservation of natural environment and built assets.
Community Achievement - Build capacity of community to engage in volunteerism to support cultural activities, events, and asset conservation. Engage with rural and urban life to lead communities in problem solving projects and opportunities. Improvements to waste facilities and encouragement of ‘recycle, re-use and avoid’ initiatives to minimise impact on landfill.
Internal Vigour - Fostering an empowered and learning organisation that attracts and retains excellent staff. Building on the capacity of staff to provide a new robust organisation that is designed to meet the needs of its community professionally, efficiently and cost effectively.
Economic Compass - Develop a new and forward thinking economic development model, based on attracting right investment at right price. Focus on expansion and survival of our industries with an emphasis on agriculture. Retain and build on our successes of promoting cultural and festival events.

To provide an economical, reliable and safe water supply system.
Sewerage Services
To provide an economical, reliable and environmentally safe sewerage system.
Recreation & Culture
To provide a variety of recreational and cultural facilities on an equitable basis, which complements the needs of local residents and visitors.
Construction
To ensure compliance with accepted standards of construction throughout the Shire.
Transport & Communication
To provide safe and efficient access to desired destinations.
Economic Activities
To provide efficiently run business undertakings, while facilitating the economic viability of the area
